Who says that only women have a long tongue

As they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This was most evident when a lioness flew in to a rage after hearing another lioness call out to her mate. Unfortunately for him, the unsuspecting male lion, not realizing how livid his mate was, got too close for comfort. Tantamount to ripping his heart out, the lioness tried to claw out his tongue instead.
Strange though it may seem, this was the picture that wildlife photographer Lee Whittam captured at Botswana’s Okavango Delta last December. He witnessed the lions rage when she saw her mate’s reaction to the call of another lioness in heat. Furious, the lioness tried to prevent her mate from succumbing to the mating call of the other lioness, but failed. When the lion insisted on trying to cross over a body of water towards the competition, the lioness reacted with uncharacteristic and unbridled fury and went for his tongue.
