Brave Heart from Bengal
At the age of two, Tanvir is said to be nimble, ingenious and totally without fear. In fact, he’s supposed to strike fear in people’s hearts – because he is a Bengal Tiger. A resident of Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, Wraxall, Bristol, Tanvir’s reputation is now shot to bits and he has been labeled a ‘wimp’ by the zoo keepers there, after he thought he was being adventurous when, with great agility, he scaled a 15 feet activity tower.
Unfortunately, Tanvir’s bravado deserted him when he looked down and saw the ground 15 feet below him! He spent the next 24 hours peering occasionally over the edge and then cowering back. He has spent all day relaxing at a safe distance from the edge of the platform, resolutely refusing to come down.
Zoo keepers feel he’ll make the effort when he gets hungry enough. However, tigers are known to go without food for up to five days.
